Just tested augment vs my cursor sub. If augment keeps improving features im 100℅ making the switch over. Best part no slow responses after limit and not agent tool limits of 25. Augment agent just keeps attempting to solve errors without timeout+
It was great first day, no problems at all. 2 days later working with it on the same project i got a series of 503 errors for an hour or so. Each interruption ended up crippling the codebase faster than it so impressively generated. Spent a whole day trying to get it to fix issues it introduced. It then went off on a tangent and started leaving syntax errors as fast as it fixed issues. Ended up getting my account frozen for 24 hours because I apparently sent 1000 requests to the agent. Probably 950 of those 1000 were poorly optimized tool calls that it was generating while it was trying to un yeet the code that it yeeted.
A lot of my dev friends are vouching for that versus cursor and winsurf

I am sorry, but jI ust worked with it – the tool calls too long. It needs to try different methods instead of giving up – but then again, Cursor ide does the same. I will try again soon with augmented code before the trial runs out. And see what it can do next. Had enough of giving Cursor context with every few messages – it is like a fish. Cheers for the recommendation. This is huge for me. I hope to train many business owners soon. Lovely AI Coding, but when complexity hits, it is if you do not know the inside and doputs of the code base structure and what you are trying to build. Everything goes out of the window. But finally got there to know this now. Anyone reading this. It is powerful. Do not trust AI coding to do it all for you when you developing complex system. Be as detailed as possible, and do your research!! Context, context – context guys and girls.

it has outsmarted Cursor and Windsurf completely, it knows what you want passing the right context, intelligently modify not just the targeted components but also the rest of the ecosystem. I'm on trial and will definitely purchase the pro pack when it's officially launched.
I also want to add that at the level this tool is at, it's more than enough for me (I can solve the rest of issues on my own), so my hope is that tools will become free at this level and what becomes of paid tiers will be mostly other extra stuff like number of agents/models used/deployment/etc just qol in general, but I hope free tier will get unlimited agent (somehow) in future from all ide/extension as bare minimum (one can dream).
In any case, I'll go back to 24/7'ing this biatch before the unlimited period is over 😂
Imo they will end up pulling a move similar to how windsurf was at beginning during unlimited test phase, so stay up 24/7 and burn up as much usage as you can if you're a free user

Augment Code is fast and clean. No LLM choice, but what they’ve got performs. No setup. You just build. But it’s already premium priced. If they add a steep cost for Agents, it’s game over. I’ll move back to Roo Code and run whatever agent I want. Augment’s winning. One bad pricing move ends that fast.
