After trying it out for a while, I’d say it’s both impressive and frustrating; pretty much what you’d expect if you’ve used other agents before. The biggest drawback is that you can’t change the model it runs on. There’s no option in the GUI, and I haven’t found anything in the config files that would allow it either. If it could pair with Sonnet, it would be a whole different story. Maybe it’s possible through Qodo Merge to plug in any model you want, but that seems sadly to be beyond the reach of regular users like myself. And if this was a paid option; i would be tempted.

Had a few bugs/issues with Qoder to begin with.. but starting to work out the way it works abit more now…
The Quest feature is pretty cool.. abit of a learning process to it as its not like normal chat / agent as such..
Every time it edits/trys to fix my main file ( 4000 lines ) it keeps deleting it.. the only real issue im having so far..
But so far seems not bad… Ive got a pretty large codebase … 480ish .py files… most IDEs struggle .. but this seems to be working still
it should be a way to recover previous working versions in case the code goes wrong.

Its definitely buggy. It loves to create super long documentation. Like 1000+ lines for everything. A few times the writing continued after the agent was done. Im not sure if something in the background or a loop somehow happened, but on a few occasions, I realized documents were over 315,000 lines long and still going. I close them and reopen, and they are still going. I have no idea how the agent still had any context left but I kept using it. It deleted the documents and rewrote then at 1200 lines. Haha and if interested, its documentation for migrating a non saas nextjs webapp to a react native with full saas backend. So yeah, a lot of documentation. Anyway, other than that, so far its good. But I haven't used it to code yet.
