I spent 5 days wrestling with Claude 4.7 and dropped back to 4.6. Claude 4.7 is just too opinionated and drives decisions in an unpredictable way. I found myself pulling out what little hair I have on this one… Don't do it… IMHO
Opus 4.7 pushes agentic coding capabilities, but token cost per task remains a constraint for production workflows.

You have to go for the Max-50x plan to effectively use Opus 4.7, even that might not be enough as the model has no control on token consumption
in reality seems dumber and more expensive…
What does the best even mean if the result is still not what the prompt said. You pay way more for a little less satisfying result – great!

I already knew that yesterday, but I’m still afraid to use it in my project because I’m not sure if I can just type anything and end up maxing out my limit. From reading the comments here, I can say that my intuition seems to be right.
Anthropic is just playing the "forbidden fruit" game, acting scared to release Myth OS (named it on purpose) to create artificial scarcity.
In reality, they just published Opus 4.7 – which is also exactly what they gave to the big companies. Now they're just holding the "Mythos" name to rebrand Opus 5 and cash in on the long-term hype.
Tested Opus 4.7 on alignment edge cases. Capabilities advancing faster than safety guarantees. The gap's widening, not closing.
Opus 4.7 is here, except for it isn't, because you will run out of your session limits in one single freaking prompt…

Yep it's crashing too – I can't get a completion via chat in the native MacOS App – I think everyone is really excited so the system is flooded. Infra struggling.
Hopefully Claude Sonnet 4.8 will offer similar quality jumps as Opus 4.7 does.
