idky people hating on n8n, when you're doing high volume campaigns and executions it is so powerful to be able to search individual executions and pinpoint exact errors. I'm using it in combination with claude code builds as an extension it's awesome for the visibility alone.
n8n plus Claude Code is genuinely one of the most powerful stacks available right now. The ability to describe a workflow and have Claude scaffold it removes the biggest friction point for most builders. I still ❤️ N8N its stable and automatically logs and notifies on error … codex is my workhorse… Claude is my expensive little buddy
Great tutorial. I don’t get why so many don’t see the value in this separation of concerns between n8n and Claude code.
Some very obvious advantages:
1) N8N runs in the cloud. You can only do this with Claude code if you heave some kind of hosting. N8N is basically a cron job machine you can easily host yourself.
2) Using Claude to build your own automations requires spending way more credits. N8N optimises automations maximally, and you just bring in AI to do very specific tasks along the workflow. You are extremely unlikely to build Claude code workflows with the same efficiency.
3) N8N is basically a master skill for automations. Sure, you could build all these skills yourself, but N8N is basically like a boilerplate. It’s like saying “why would you use a CSS framework when Claude can just build a custom front end”? The fact is that using something that already exists to do a job really well and then saying to Claude “use this as your baseline” is going to result in far faster development.
4) “Oh but you could just have Openclaw do this”. This is the worst take. Openclaw is like running the wrong operating system for the job. The only way to do it is to have one or more dedicated automation agents, rather than using an actual automation agent designed for the job, and then you have all the merged complexities of the agent with the automation. Your gateway and all the other code in there becomes a ticking timebomb for everything screwing up.
5) N8N will give you extremely specific errors as to why an automation failed. You can just give these to Claude and fix them. If you DIY it, you’ll end up spending ages trying to figure out exactly where something went wrong and go round in loops trying to fix it.
6) N8N has a visual interface built in. No need to build this yourself, and teammates can use it who aren’t vibe coders.
7) n8n has a built in user authentication system. Another thing you’d need Claude to build if you’re going to DIY this.
I could go on but it’s pretty clear that this is a huge unlock. Maybe one day you’ll be able to just vibe this all into existence but to be honest even then it will probably be better to just pull all the code from n8n and build upon it. Right now, for the vast majority of people wanting to build automations, this is the fast lane, not building from scratch with Claude.

that can be really beneficial because it can see all of the metadata and how the data is flowing, so for a more complex issue than a simple parameter like this, if it gets the execution itsself it will have a much better idea of how to fix the issue

I’m exploring using n8n for WhatsApp automation, mainly to fix appointments — but the flow in between is quite complex:
* Asking dynamic questions to build a client profile (budget, location, needs, etc.)
* Recommending suitable solutions based on those inputs
* Sending media like images, videos, and PDFs (e.g. brochures, layouts)
With the new MCP server and TypeScript validation, do you think n8n is robust enough for this level of customization and reliability?
Or would you still recommend pairing it with a more traditional WhatsApp automation platform for the frontend?
The core question isn't whether n8n is 'useful,' but why we continue to rely on a visual abstraction layer when LLMs have democratized the full stack. The 'Model Context Protocol' (MCP) is impressive, but the real disruption is that Claude can now write production ready volumes of code logic, SQL, and API handlers that work just as reliably as any off the shelf module. If I can have Claude architect a custom, high performance automation using a simple SQL database in Supabase triggered by a cron job, I’ve effectively built a 'private n8n' with zero overhead.
The industry keeps pointing to 'prebuilt modules' as the reason to stay with these platforms, but that’s a legacy argument. When an AI can generate a custom TypeScript function or a pg_cron schedule in seconds, the 'convenience' of a visual node is actually a bottleneck. We are moving toward a code first reality where the AI is the engineer and the database is the execution engine. Unless you specifically need a visual flowchart for a non technical team, n8n is quickly becoming an unnecessary middleman in a world of AI driven, database native automation.
if we analyse our agentic workflows in claude code, I think we'd find many parts are deterministic. So this makes sense even to save tokens and prevent sending sensitive data to LLMs. Thanks for another video
I've never understood the n8n v Claude Code nonsense going on. Claude Code is the wrong tool for 10 of my 11 automations because they don't need AI, they're just moving data between services on a trigger. Running them through Claude would mean paying for thinking on tasks that need none. n8n is the right tool for plumbing, Claude Code is the right tool for the building and the thinking work. I run n8n on a Hetzner server.
gonna be tough to recover for N8N. Even Zappier is shaking. Further it had a lot of inconsistencies. Automation is tough due to the nondeterministic nature of AI itself unpredictable. You can’t scale that. Tough. I remember asking some N8N youtube channels if they were leaving N8N . They said no, now none make videos you rarely see a video like this. “Niche”bud, many routes and much easier. I think Zappier might be faded out too.
A question then – how would you set up a workflow that needs to be done exactly the same every time and that claude code cant do without cheating? Is not N8N the solution for that?
I hate channels whose entire livelihood depends on them releasing content because they just release shit. Just random shit every day. This guy probably even used 98% of what he recommends.
"Changed" is doing a lot of heavy lifting in that title — three months from now this'll be the tool we quietly replace with the next thing that "just changed everything."
I swear to God every time I build a tool, some company comes out with the corporate version of it. About three months ago I built a tool similar to this to make sure the JSON outputs were good for N8N. At this point I'm going to stop making my own tools.
